No tuition increase for EWU students | News
Eastern Washington University students can breath a sigh of relief as they look to next year. The University announced Friday that they will not be increasing tuition for the 2014-15 school year. This is the second consecutive of no tuition increases.
“The university is excited to announce this great news for our students,” said President Rodolfo Arévalo. “It is my strong belief that holding down the cost of tuition is the best financial aid we can give students. This will allow students to achieve their academic goals, while reducing their student debt.”
EWU’s Board of Trustees had initially approved a six percent tuition increase for next year citing uncertainties on the amount of state support. However, President Arevalo recommended in May that the board rollback that increase.
The action means that tuition will remain at $7,372 a year, or $2,457 a quarter.
